I’ve had the good fortune of being one of the most requested and popular dance music creators to come out of Canada, which has resulted in trips throughout the world to drop my unique blend of sounds at many of the top clubs around the globe. I’ve been to the UK, China, Australia and Korea, just to name a few. Typically, I spend as many as six months of the year on the road, but I don’t mind since it gives me the opportunity to see how people from all walks of life react to my music.
There’s no shortage of unique remix artists out there, and I knew early into my career that I was going to have to refine my craft and make the adjustment from hobbyist to professional if I was going to make it in the industry. Luckily, I was able to find my sound early on, combining my favourite elements of electro, mash-up, techno and party breaks into a blend that crowds love to dance to, whether I’m playing to an audience of a few hundred or as many as ten thousand.
While stage performing on tour is its own version of work, the real effort is in the studio, where I use all of the tools at my disposal to produce the best tracks possible. Other remix artists confine themselves to using the same technology or software for the length of their careers, but I’m always looking for new ways to push the envelope and stay on the cutting edge. I even recently released a video of a track that I put together using a DJ app for the iPad, just to show that you don’t always need the biggest or fanciest gear to make great sounds.
